Studio Tacet is an independent platform for spatial design, architectural research, experimentation, and visual practice.

Studio Tacet was  founded by Xi JIN and Shiyu TONG(AIA, Licensed Architect, LEED GA, USGBC member) in 2025. Rooted in architectural thinking, Studio Tacet moves between space, image, and computational experimentation. We use iteration, evaluation, and refinement to turn ambiguous ideas into clear spatial and visual propositions.

Studio Tacet draws meaning from music’s *tacet*—a deliberate rest, a pause that amplifies what surrounds it. In architecture, this translates to spaces shaped by restraint: where material honesty and spatial rhythm create moments of calm, reflection, and balance. We design interventions that listen first, responding to needs with simplicity. Quietly inventive, we build in the gaps between noise.

Our Approach
Listen to the Site - We anchor our design in the site’s natural environment, its natural environments, cultural narratives, and social contexts, allowing space and place to resonate.

Clarify the Idea -  We look for the essential concept behind each project, then translate it into space, image, and narrative.

Explore through iterations -   We test ideas through drawing, modeling, image-making, and experimentation, allowing each iteration to reveal new possibilities and sharpen the direction.

Subtractive Intervention - We pursue simplicity with depth, through carefully chosen materials, spatial clarity, and poetic lighting.

Design for Change -  We consider the life cycle of materials and embrace spatial adaptability and sustainability, aiming to create architecture resilient to the passage of time.
